I have a verizon phone and get duplicate messages sometimes. Why is that?

That happens occasionally when Verizon upgrades their system. Every now and then you should dial *228 from your phone to keep up on things. Sometimes the person who send you messages can%26#39;t get through so they resend it several times not knowing and therefore you have multiple messages.
