I have a question about my track phone. Just wondering how do they have the right to turn my phone o

I don%26#39;t purchase more minutes. I don%26#39;t use it very much (just for emergencies) and I still have 19 minutes left, but they say they%26#39;re going to shut it off in 10 days if I don%26#39;t purchase more minutes. How can they shut it off when I don%26#39;t pay a monthly fee to them? I don%26#39;t understand.

Answers:

because its in the agreement that you need to buy minutes every three months to continue using the phone

and they dont really "turn it off" , they just cancel the phone number

so you will be able to use the phone again in the future when you buy minutes again , but you will get a new phone number

i have a trac phone and its still cheaper to buy 60 minutes every 3 months then any other phone plans

and it doesnt even have to be 60 mins ...could be 30 mins...they are like 15 dollars

60 min. tracphone card is 29.00 for three months , what other plan is that cheap ..no extra fees .. no nothing...thats only 10 bucks a month

perfect for people that dont use phones much

B. I think with track phone you have to purchase minutes every month regardless if you need them or not. It%26#39;s called "fine print". Read it. If this story is true, I am sure it is covered in your agreement somewhere. I used to have one of these and i hated that, i didn%26#39;t understand why i had to buy minutes all the time,,,but it%26#39;s a true fact, it depends on what minute cards you buy at the store, some you buy are good for a year, some you buy are only good for a month or two, i hated that i didn%26#39;t use it much either but if i didn%26#39;t buy minutes they would shut it off, i dont%26#39; understand at all why either..i guess it%26#39;s just a sactic to get you to buy more and more minutes and those dang minutes cards start getting exspensive. Sadly, when you buy that type of telephone service, you are entering a contract EVEN THOUGH it is pre paid. You are making a commitment to purchace more time every month or two...it has been some time since I used one. The good news is, there are cards that are 15$ and you can buy it when you have the cash, but dont add it to the phone until you are close to the end of the cycle. If you call them with a new card to put on, they will (most of the time) give you back the same number and all. Good Luck! BigM,

review the terms of the contract and then argue the point with them that they have NO RIGHT to turn off your phone. Speak with a Customer Service Rep., if that doesn%26#39;t work speak with a manager - if that doesn%26#39;t work contact the Better Business Bureau. I have attached a link below for you to file a complaint on line with the BBB.

Best of luck! ivan nailed it Big M. you might as well ask why girls are so shallow
