You can try several different things, from putting it in the oven at the lowest setting, to leaving it in your car on a hot day to dry out to using a blow-dryer. Also using 95% rubbing alcohol to attract the water and then leave it to dry.
You should REMOVE the battery from the phone; if you left the battery on the phone drying it out may not work because the electricity may have caused permanent damage already.
DO NOT HEAT THE BATTERY!!!
If those tips do not work then yes you will need to get a new wireless device.
Check out the web pages bellow for tips on how to try and save your phone. I don%26#39;t know if you can clean salt water from it but the way a guy at the cell phone store showed me to clean a SIM card is to use a pencil eraser %26 lightly rub over the contacts on the card. Hope you get it working again. u shouldn%26#39;t have jumped in the ocean with it in the first place :P Once a relative got his cell phone wet in the bathroom, and it never worked again, so I would take it to the cell phone store and see if they can do something. Oooh, salt water and electronics? Bad combination! I would suggest calling or going by your cell phone company. They may be able to tell you what to try to see if it is salvageable. I know the feeling . I washed mine in the washer. THen when I went to get the sims card fixed they said that if you put a messed one up in your phone your could mess up your phone. So now you might want to get the security thing were they downlowd your info on the computer and you can always get it from the phone company. I lost my info. It sucked. Haha I did the same thing.
